Busy Busy Bees

It has been a while since I have posted anything, and I have good reasons!! Here they are.....

We celebrated valentines Day with some of our friends. We got to go bowling and eat without the kids, it was great, and Kevin is always enjoys killing me in bowling.

Annnalise has been enjoying her new found legs and getting more an more restless in a little apartment, so we have been going out a lot to keep her busy. We went with some friends last friday to a play house near center city. Annalise had not been inside since she was very small and she had a blast exploring everything.

Kevin has been accepted to three schools now for his MBA, now all we have to do is decide where to go, which is easier said than done. There are so many factors that go into making a decision like this, but I promise as soon as I know, you will know! (here is another old school picture for you all, can you tell which one is Kevin?)

As for me I have picked up a new hobby....quilting! Thanks to Emily for letting me borrow all of her quilting tools, they have saved me soo much time. Here are the results, enjoy!

Hair, Hair, Hair

Well, many people have been asking for proof of Kevins long hair. So I thought I would finally post a picture of him with his beautiful locks. This is Kevin when he was a freshman in college, rockin out on his guitar.....and yes I knew him with his long hair. We met when we were 17, and he was just as handsome back then as he is now! Isn't he so cute!

Goooooooooo Cougars!!

Well, as many of you know Kevin is currently applying to Grad school to get his MBA. So we just got back from (hopefully) our final trip to look at schools. We spent the weekend in Provo with my brothers, sister-in-laws and one little cousin. Kevin had never been to BYU before, so this was his first trip on to campus. My brother Matt is trying REAL hard to to get us to move there. He was telling us everything that is wonderful about Provo and BYU and Utah you name it, he had something good to say about it, such as: having relatives close, a lot of snow, awesome skiing, yummy ice cream, free babysitting, inexpensive living, cheap tuition, etc, etc. (I could go on but I will stop there.)
But as we have told everyone else, we are just going to have to wait and see. Here is the list of places that Kevin has applied for, so if you have a favorite start praying now because we will be deciding soon!

Ice Princess Kelsey

As some of you may know, on Wednesday night we brought the youth ice skating. We went last year to Penn's Landing "river rink" and they all had a blast, they have been begging all year to do it again. So... we went again this year, and Kevin even came with me this time. Both Kev and I have skating experience, he played hockey when he was younger, and I used to compete in figure skating with my sister. I love it. However it was freezing on Wednesday night, as you can tell by the picture above, I can hardly move my face, (Darylynn too, she was stuck like that) it was actually frozen like that all night......crazy hah?

Despite the really cold weather everyone had fun, and I thought that being outside freezing my tail off was going to be the highlight of my week, but I was wrong. Because when we were driving home my arm was still hurting from my fall I had on the ice that night. I blew it off, but got an x-ray on Thursday....and sure enough, I fractured my arm. Whoops! It is a very small radial head fracture, and I will be fine in a few weeks. But in the mean time, it is so hard to do anything. Like change Annalise's diaper, put my clothes on, and play my guitar for work. So needless to say, it is going to be an interesting few weeks!!

Tutu's and Singing Bears

For Christmas Annalise got a lot of new fun things, which she is loving. One of her gifts that she recieved was a leotard with a pink tutu attached to it.  She loves to dance when any music is on, and everytime she was wants me to sing her a song she starts clappping her hands and says "this, this" meaning- sing me a song mom.

So know along with her favorite doll (her singing bear),  she has everything she needs to become a little dancer.
I got her dressed up in her leotard today and she was dancing with her singing bear. The bear sings "I Hope You Dance" I thought it was adorable.

Here she is in her Tutu Leotard:

Here she is kind of dancing with her bear singing.....(it is so hard to catch her on camera at the right time. I think she was actually dancing for all of 3 seconds in this video.)

Welcome 2009!!

Well, I started writing a Christmas/end of the year post around Christmas time...but then of course I never finished it. So sorry to anyone who was hoping for something special, the weather was too nice in LA to be sitting behind a computer all day.

So as you may have guessed we spent our Holidays in California. Kevin's parents live there, and we have not been out there in years, so it was really nice to spend Christmas there. We flew out on Christmas Eve, and the horrible people at American airlines separated Kevin, his sister Amy and I, (even though we had assigned seats), so Annalise was being handed off between the three of us for five hours. She even managed to get applesauce on the ceiling of the plane......yeah it was an exciting flight. Once we got their, we definitely enjoyed our vacation and Annalise got very spoiled for Christmas (being the only grandchild will do that to you.)

The day of Christmas my brother Steve and his wife, Ellie, came to stay for a couple of days to attend our cousins wedding.

So we finally got to meet their new little daughter Lilly who is so adorable, and looks fabulous with a flower in her hair.

The wedding was great and the we got to dance the night away, well most of us did, Kevin mostly bobbed his head and enjoyed the punch.

We also kept ourselves busy by going to the playground and the aquarium.

While we were there Kendy gave me call
and said she would love to see us, so we said "yeah, that would be great". So they made the 6 hour drive out from Phoenix to see us, they are so awesome. It was great to see them, and I have decided kids grow way to fast.

Then on New Years Eve Kevin's brother came home from his mission, all the way from Orlando, Florida. It was great to see them all together again, at least for the 2 or 3 days that we had with him before we all left again. Now Eric is in Utah going to school, and we wish him the best of luck!

So yeah, it was a busy couple of weeks, and it was all worth it. (the picture on the left is of Kevin waiting for Eric to get off the plane...pretending to be his Limo driver, and just to the right of Kevin was Lee Corso's driver)

The rest of the time we mostly played a lot of rock band and other Wii games. Actually the game system happened to be in our room, so there were many mornings I would wake up to Kevin bowling while I was sleeping........and people wonder why we don't have video games in our house???

Well I am trying not to be long winded, so I will just end and say Happy New Year to everyone!!

(and as usual here is a cute video of Annalise. She is playing with her new baby bear from Tutu- great Grandma. I tried to catch her on video, because she was being so cute rocking her bear and patting her on the back, after she carefully wrapped her in a blanket, at the very end of the video she finally did it again, too cute!)

(sorry its a little dark)

Hot times in Texas

It seems lately that all we do is travel, and fly on planes. Which is always exciting with a one year old! For Thanksgiving we got to go to Georgia. We spent time with Kevins parents, sister, uncle and cousin. It was a nice quiet Thanksgiving, and Annalise thought it was awesome getting all the attention everywhere she went.

Last week we went to Austin, which was a lot of fun. Kevin had and interview at Univ of Texas, and we got to spend the weekend with my sister and her family, which is nice since we hardly see them anymore. Annalise had a lot of fun with her cousins, and it was very nice to be in warm weather again. It was quite the wake up call when we got back and it was 22 degrees outside!! Man that is cold.

Fortunately we were not traveling anywhere this week, and I say fortunately because all of us got sick this week. Annalise was sick 0n Thursday, then on Friday Kev and I thought we had flown under the radar, until we were not feeling so hot on Saturday morning,  and ended up missing our ward Christmas Party. I heard it was a great party, but I am sure everyone is grateful we were not there getting them sick also.

So the countdown to Christmas continues! Only a week and a half to go, and I know that I am not ready. We are excited to finally be visiting Kevins parents after five years. (Well we have seen them frequently, as most of you know, we just have not been out to visit them for a long time, and it is always nice to go to LA, where the weather is great and usually in the 70's.) So yay for warm(er) weather. Oh, and that reminds me! I am sending out Christmas cards this week. So anyone who would like one please give me your address. You can either leave it in the comments, or just email me at lawrencekelsey@gmail.com , even if you think I already have your address, please give it to me (if you would like a a christmas card.)

Well if I don't get a chance to post again before the end of the month, Merry Christmas to everyone!

PS- Blogger is not letting me upload pictures, so if you want to see pictures from these last couple of weeks go to our picture albums here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lawrencekelsey/Annalise#5279831973767124322
