Nightmares

So Annalise has been having a lot of trouble sleeping.
She has been waking up a few times a night....
scared of something different every night.
She wakes up crying and comes into my room.
Sometimes she will go back to bed,
but other times she just wants someone to hold her.
She has started to close her closet every night because it's scary,
and she say's there is an eye in her bed?
Sometimes she remembers her dreams,
but most of the time she starts to explain it,
and it sounds like nonsense to me.

I honestly don't know what to do,
but I hope we can resolve this....
before I have another baby keeping me up at night.

Ayden has started to have bad dreams and being scared of things... I dont know the fix but sometimes it helps when I show him that there is nothing there after all or if I give him a "special" or "magic" animal that keeps all bad things away at night.

I used to have horrible nightmares- for years. My Mom told me that I could control my dreams. And with practice I could make the monsters my friends. I was a little older than Anna, but maybe she will get it. In the mean time, night lights, and Charise's idea sound great. Maybe saying a prayer with her before bed will also teach her to ask Heavenly Father for help when she is scared. Good luck!

We started using a soft night light. But the big help has been "spray." One night after many nightmares in a row about bugs, I took some fabreeze and sprayed her room. I told her it's bad dream bug spray and it keeps the bad dreams and the bugs away. Now she asks me to spray her room each night, and that totally keeps her feeling secure.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Annalise now has her "safe" blankets and animals that she has been sleeping with....and she hasn't been up in a few nights. (Thank goodness)
Now if I can just get some rest before child number 2 is keeping me up!
